I placed my add on the 21st of November and had a reply by the 23rd of November, by the 2nd of December we had viewed each others houses and decided that we were both very happy with what we saw and had decided to go for it. Our forms were all into the respective Council/Housing Associations by the 7th of December, although due to Highland Council (my landlord at the time) mucking us about and saying they hadn't received this form or that form from our exchange partner and then using the excuse of the festive period we never had our inspection until the 9th of January, our exchange partner had their inspection on the 18th of December.
We moved on the 26th of January (my birthday, and I couldn't have wished for a better present), all unpacked and settled now and no regrets whatsoever.
So it just took 2 days from my first post to being contacted by our future exchange partner, pretty good considering it was the lead up to the festive period.
