A lot of members do not understand the difference between a Maisonette and a Flat
Definition of Maisonette & Flat:
- A maisonette is a flat with its own internal stairs leading up to the 1st floor, and similar to a house only it is in a block of properties just like a block of flats. A flat is a property on one level or sometimes a split level with just a few stairs. Split Levels can often be found in Victorian and Georgian buildings.
We recommend that you measure rooms where possible and include the details within your advertisement. The more information that you provided within your exchange forum advertisement the more you increase the likelyhood of finding your exchange sooner.

Main Rooms
- Number of Bedrooms:
- Lounge:
- Kitchen:
- Number of WC’s:
- Bathroom:
Other Rooms
- Add details of other rooms such as dining rooms, utility room, study, playroom, conservatory Etc
Disabled Adaptions
- Please list any adaptions that have been made to your home to make it suitable for disabled tenants; this may not apply to everyone!
Parking
- Add details on parking for interested parties
- Parking Permit required? Yes or No
Gardens & Outdoor Spaces
- Add details and state whether its own use or communal use.
Local facilities
- Please list as much detail as possible such as schools, public transport, doctors and dentists.
Exchange Wanted
You will now need to list what you are looking for, Property Type, number of bedrooms and all the locations considered. It is advisable to be flexible when searching for an exchange especially very long distances otherwise it could take a long time to find an exact match.
